SHADOW STATE sees Jack Ryan Jr. in a race for his life trying to stay ahead of a pack of killers after a business trip to the Vietnamese Highlands to review an isolated factory mining for gold, goes wrong. After the crash the Chinese try as hard as they can to keep Ryan Jr. from finding out exactly what goes on at the isolated factory, using Vietnam as a powerful plaything in global affairs.
