Father’s Day is a day where we acknowledge the men in our lives that raised us, taught us lessons, and watched us fall so they could pick us back up. This year I’ve decided to start a gift guide with some of my recommendations and suggestions.
This Father’s Day show those men in your life some appreciation with some unique gifts! Below are some of my recommendations, links, and personal reviews!
Books
Transformed by Remi Adeleke
A Navy Seal’s unlikely journey from the Throne of Africa to the streets of the Bronx, to defying all odds. This is a powerful book, and a must read for sure. I have it on my reading list for this year, and the reviews are incredible.

American Sickness by Elisabeth Rosenthal
It’s no secret that healthcare in American is a total mess. My wife is in the healthcare field and complains about insurance all the time. In this book Rosenthal pulls back the curtain on your dysfunctional healthcare system, the corruption behind it, and the future of healthcare as a business. Her investigation, explanations, and decoding of the bureacratic doublespeak is gripping.

The Devil’s Hand by Jack Carr (or any in the Terminal List series)
Book #4 in the series of Jack Carr’s gripping novels is maybe his best yet. I’m personally very found of Savage Son (Book #3), but the Devil’s Hand strikes a blow to the corruption in Washington and how handling a deadly disease questions our leaders. Jack almost predicted how a disease like COVID would be man-made, and how it would be handled (of fumbled) on the larger world political platform. Check it out and watch James Reece, Jack’s protagonist fight like hell to save the US once again. And of course, check out books 1-3 as well!

Bonus: Pre-Order Black Ice by Brad Thor
Dropping on 20 July, the 20th book in the Scott Harvath series sees Brad Thor at his best, painting a political picture of the fight for uncharted global territory. His demons come back to haunt him, ruining a perfectly good getaway vacation, Harvath must race against time taking him high above the Arctic Circle. He will be tested like never before. Explosive, and I can’t wait for my signed copy!

Gear
Toor Knives
Want a legit knife by some legit guys who appreciate a good blade more than the big name companies do? Look no further than Toor Knives in San Diego, CA (I know, California!). I personally have the Kingpin in Shadow Black resting on the front of my plate carrier, ready to go in a moments notice. These blades are excellent, and you should check them out. Their quality is second to none. And mine came in a fancy Apple style box, highlighting their dedication to delivering a top-notch product. For perspective, my CRKT knife came in a cheap cardboard box and a plastic bag, both were the same price….

Red Dot mounting plate by Velocity Precision
I’m incredibly happy with the red dot mounting plate for my M&P .45 I just bought from Velocity Precision. Not only does it adapt perfectly for the Vortex Viper red dot I bought, but it’s smooth, simple, and tougher than you are. Velocity doesn’t just make mounting plates, they have a ton of AR accessories and some of the best AR triggers on the market. Upgrade dad today with a red dot and a mounting plate from Velocity.
Viper Red Dot by Vortex Optics (find deals on GovX)
And speaking of red dots, while you buy that new mounting plate jump over to Vortex Optics and check out their Viper red dot options. I love mine on top of my M&P .45, and they have some of the best quality out there. If you are military or a first responder, jump over to GovX for great deals on Vortex Optics. Oh, and their gear ain’t bad either. Some of the best t-shirts I’ve ever bought.

Gadgets
9 in 1 Tactical Pen
I got one of these for Christmas last year and it made me wonder why I never carried one of these before. This 9 in 1 tactical pen has it all…a compass, emergency whistle, 4 in 1 multi tool head, ballpoint pen, and a very strong clip. Is it an everyday writing pen? No, not at all. But is it good for everyday carry and to stash in the truck, or your go-bag? Yes, of course. And for only $9 bucks you can buy Dad one for each. Hell, buy him a handful of them and watch were he stashes them!

Dewalt Tough Case System
I received one of these for Father’s Day last year, and it fit the several hundred drill bits I’ve collected like a dream. So, seeing as how it is a modular system, i’ve collected even more of these tough cases (and drill bits). Replace dad’s old junky toolbox with these, a modular system just as tough as the tools Dewalt produces.

AGS Wireless Laser Projection Bluetooth keyboard
I can’t attest to this, or how good it works, but damn do I want one. A laser projected keyboard that works with tablets and smartphones. Your dad on the go a lot? Get him this laser keyboard and present it to him likes he’s Tony Stark.

5.11 Tactical Operator A-Flex Hat
This is my favorite hate. It fits perfectly, breathes, and feel tough as nails while still being stylish and ready for anything. I have the dark gray version, and you can find Marina Blue as well as Black on various websites if you search around. Great hat by an even better company.

Protector Brewery
Veteran Owned and American Made. This brewery is outstanding. Don’t be fooled by the “organic” description on their website, these beers are the real deal. I’m not huge on IPAs, and if your dad isn’t either that’s fine. However, I very much enjoyed their IPAs, from the. Mosaic all the way to their Citra IPA. Very delicious, very smooth, very American. Plus, they will be converting over to 100% renewable energy to power their brewery in mid to late June 2021. How cool is that?

Roastery 48 Coffee
Veteran and Firefighter owned coffee company straight out of Arizona. If you know me, you’ll know I’m a sucker for a good cup of coffee, especially if it is veteran owned. Roastery 48 isn’t a traditional coffee company, as they like to push the limits of creativity. I have tried their Black & Tan roast, which is a blend of light and dark roasts giving you that dark flavor with that smoothness of a light roast. Very unique, and a must try.
Roastery 48 and their innovative coffee can be found HERE
Coffee, Coffee, and more Coffee
Ditch the k-cups and coffee pods and upgrade dad’s coffee game ASAP. Hook him up with one, or all of the below to really step up his game.

It’s sleek, sexy, and comes fully apart for easy cleaning. After this creamy pour into his favorite mug, he’ll never go back to that cheap coffee pot again.
